Penang Cocktail Week 2026 - At a Glance

Penang Cocktail Week returns from 15–20 September 2026, with this year's edition built around five themes of Penang hospitality: Kaki Lang, Makan Angin, Jiak, Kongsi and Lau Juak!  

Kaki Lang is about friends and the local bar community (ie guest shifts), Makan Angin is about getting out and exploring (beyond just the usual guest shifts), Jiak is all about food, Kongsi is about sharing and coming together, while Lau Juak! is about having a good time (ie large crowd events & parties).

Penang Cocktail Week returns for its third edition from 1–7 September 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a BIG one!

What is it?

Penang Cocktail Week is a week-long gathering of bartending talent from Malaysia and abroad, featuring bar takeovers, parties, and industry-focused events across the city.

Penang Cocktail Week (PCW2024) returns for the second year running featuring local and international guest bartenders in various events, bars and hotels across the city of George Town, Penang.

Penang Cocktail Week 2023: 20-29 October

Mark your calendars folks - Penang's first ever cocktail festival is coming!

This 10-day long festival, initiated by Koh Yung Shen, (owner of Backdoor Bodega - Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in 2022 at #97), will be participated by 10 local cocktail bars: Backdoor Bodega, BaoBae, Biso, Chez Chez, Cocktails and Shots, Foxhole 24, The Mandarin, The Nest, No Bar Here, and Nomad.
