Roku Gin has introduced its latest limited-edition expression, Roku Gin Noryo Tea Edition, inspired by "Noryo", the Japanese tradition of seeking moments of refreshment and tranquillity during summer.
Following the Sakura Bloom Edition in 2024, this is the second release in Roku Gin’s Seasonal Festival Collection, continuing the brand’s focus on "Shun", the Japanese philosophy of celebrating ingredients at their seasonal peak.
The Noryo Tea Edition highlights two of Roku Gin’s six signature Japanese botanicals - Sencha and Gyokuro green tea. Sencha brings fresh, grassy notes, while Gyokuro adds sweetness and umami, complemented by yuzu citrus, sansho spice and traditional gin characteristics.
The seasonal theme is also reflected in the bottle design, which features tea leaf illustrations, green accents and botanical details embossed into the glass.
For the Malaysian launch, Roku Gin partnered with Shaun Liew, founder of ONO Specialty Coffee & Matcha and three-time Malaysia Brewers Cup champion, to create tea-inspired cocktails with participating bars.
In conjunction with the launch, Asia’s Smallest Tea Bar, a pop-up featuring tea-inspired cocktails and matcha experiences, will take place at Coley from 17 to 22 August. To participate, register here: https://rokunoryoteabarmy.eventbrite.com
The Noryo Tea Edition will then be featured at Pahit, TeRu.Mi, Bar Gaya and Dear Hearts and Chilled Spirits from 1 September.
Roku Gin Noryo Tea Edition is available in 700ml at 43% ABV, priced at RM248, at selected retailers and bars.
