Founded in 2016, this London dry-style gin has been infused with native Chinese botanicals, reflecting Shanghai’s East-meets-West spirit.
Peddlers’ flavour profile is built around four signature Chinese botanicals: Buddha’s Hand (Yunnan) for citrus brightness, Sichuan Pepper (Qingxi) for warm spice, Lotus Flower (Gansu) for delicate florals, and Tianshan Almonds (Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang) for nutty sweetness.
These are layered over seven other botanicals - Juniper (Hungarian Highlands), Liquorice (Guangdong), Mint (Yunnan), Cardamom Pods (Java, Indonesia), Angelica (Northeast China), Coriander Seeds (Northern India), and Chinese Cassia (Yunnan) - that add further depth and complexity.
Its signature G&T calls for a garnish of fresh mint and a thin slice of grapefruit or lime. Thanks to its bold flavours, it also works well in a Martini or a Negroni.
In Malaysia, you can get your hands on The Fortune Teller Box, Peddlers’ limited-edition release launched this month, priced at RM 328 (700 ml, 45.7% ABV) on Albert Wines. The pack includes a bottle of Peddlers, a cocktail recipe card, a collectible coin keepsake, and two stainless steel mugs.
