Cut & Dry Coconut is Planteray's new release, highlighting the two icons of Barbadian culture—coconuts and rum.

Ripe coconuts are harvested, cracked open by hand, and left to dry
under the Caribbean sun, which concentrates their oils and flavour.
These dried coconut chunks are then infused into a blend of Barbados
column-still rum and pot-still rum (including their “Old Gregg” pot
distillate). After infusion, the liquid is married with more Barbados
rum.
The team spent four years experimenting with recipes before
landing on the process they use today. They also work directly with
local coconut farmers, so production remains closely tied to the
island’s agriculture. Right now, Cut & Dry is released in very
limited quantities, with availability expected to grow as coconut
farming on Barbados expands.
One may be tempted to compare Planteray Cut & Dry Coconut to Malibu, but they are quite different. Malibu is a sweet coconut liqueur at 21% ABV, while Cut & Dry is a full-strength 40% rum infused with roasted coconut.
Cut & Dry can be sipped neat or over ice if you want to taste the coconut clearly. It also works well in a highball with soda water, which keeps the profile clean. In cocktails, it can stand in for coconut liqueurs in classics like the PiƱa Colada, Daiquiri or Mojito.
By the way - Planteray is the new name for what was formerly Plantation Rum.
In 2020, Maison Ferrand announced the rebrand, retiring the word Plantation due connotations of the word. Witht he transition now complete, bottles are being released under the Planteray name with updated labels. The rum itself has not changed — the same production methods, ageing, and blends continue under the new branding.
In Malaysia, Planteray is officially distributed by Tong Woh and is available through their Shopee page and Cellar 18.
