Hear ye hear ye - the KL Cocktail week is upon us! 

 

If you like cocktails, if you like bars, and if you are in KL next week - there's a week of activities relating to drinks and drinking so read on and lock it down on your calendar!

 

Private Chamber @ JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur

Private Chamber, as the name suggests, is a private drinking lounge that caters to both retail and exclusive event functions. Founded by Justin Lim and a group of shareholders, Private Chamber is an extension of The Chamber, the premium wines and spirits boutique with locations at The Starhill, Sunway Pyramid, and Pavilion Bukit Jail.  

October is gin month at Locker & Loft

Gin Month is back at The Locker & Loft, happening all of October 2023. 

 

JIN Gastrobar x Tomatin Whisky Dinner Pairing

Jin Gastrobar now has a range of Tomatin whiskies available at its bar and they recently held a whisky pairing dinner event to introduce it. 

Marcy Sakuma at Three X CO and the KI NO BI Edition G

We had the pleasure of catching Marcy Sakuma, Manager of the House of Ki No Bi of Kyoto, who took over Three X Co to showcase the range of Ki No Bi gins in cocktails recently.

The guest shift also introduced the limited-edition Ki No Bi Edition G, the brand’s first cask-aged Kyoto dry gin, which was officially released in 2019 in selected markets. 

Celebrating Spring Harvest with Roku Gin

From 6 April to 26 May 2023, Roku Gin is collaborating with some of the trendiest cocktail bars in Klang Valley to create cocktails that celebrate the "Shun" spring harvest - the Sakura, Grapefruit, Apricot, Kumquat, Plum and Honeydew.

"Shun", (旬 , pronounced shoon) in Japanese means seasonal ingredients that are harvested at its peak - when it is at its very best, most succulent, and flavourful.

Penrose will feature grapefruit cocktails that pairs with the fruit's citrus, tart and bitter flavours.

Martell Hosts Remy Savage at Bar Trigona, Malaysia

Maison Martell recently hosted legendary bartender, Remy Savage, for an exclusive masterclass and special guest shift at Bar Trigona, Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur.

Savage was named the ‘World’s Most Imaginative Bartender’ in 2014, the ‘Best European Mixologist’ in 2018, and the ‘Best International Bartender of the Year’ in 2022 and is currently Martell's Master Mixologist.

Triptyk Bar, Kampung Attap

Say hello to a new bar in town, the latest project by Angel Ng (of PS150 Bar and The Rex Bar).

Triptyk Bar specialises in cocktails with low to no alcohol to reach a wider audience who likes the idea of heading out for a good time but without the guilt of getting drunk, a concept which Angel has been actively pursuing these few years.

Director's Cut at TTDI

Whisky folks in the Klang Valley rejoice, for we are now blessed with the opening of a brand new whisky bar in Taman Tun.

Director's Cut is related to the Whisky Bar at Changkat Bukit Bintang - so you can expect for this bar to still have loads and loads of whiskies (bottles and by flights) for whisky lovers to explore.

Arthur’s Storehouse, Pavillion KL

Fans of Guinness will be thrilled to know that Guinness Malaysia has opened its first flagship outlet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Offering not just the draughts, it also has a variety of Guinness-infused food (also a selection of kid's meal, without alcohol, of course) and cocktails as well as exclusive merchandise from the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

The Crib is located at the upstairs of the Bottle & Boar restaurant and is accessible only through the restaurant.

Bar Mizukami, Bangunan Ming Annexe

Welcome back Shawn Chong! We have been waiting over 3 years for him to (re)open his bar and he finally has! Well, it's not as if he hasn't been busy - Shawn has been working with F&B outlets and hotels to create drinks menus under the Mizukami brand these few years.

Bar Terumi, Taman Paramount

Bar Terumi is a casual cocktail bar located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya.

If you drop by KK, Bar Flips is a MUST visit for well-curated signature and classic cocktails.

 

Founded in 2021 by our very own Junior (Marini's on 57, W Hotel), aka the godfather of the Malaysian bartending scene, who felt that it was time to leave KL and build the F&B industry in his own hometown by providing a platform to educate young talents and to build a thriving bar community here.

Hybrid KL, Jalan Changkat Ceylon

This new exclusive and semi private lounge bar located on the 4th Floor of Wisma Noble Land is led by industry veteran Ben Ng (of Penang's Mish Mash cocktail bar and Dram & Leaf specialist bottle shop). The lounge primarily caters to lounge members and access to public is via reservations only.

The hotel's bar, Chow Kit x Mizukami, refreshed their drinks menu recently, with flavours that might remind you of your younger years.

Caorunn kickstarted a 3-day celebration of this year’s World Gin Day (which falls on the second Saturday of June annually) with Jay Gray, bartender and co-founder of Sago House, Singapore.

Jann, Four Points Sheraton Chinatown KL

The Petaling Street / Chinatown area is booming with foreign and local tourists, drawn by the mushrooming of new, quaint F&B outlets, super Instagram-able graffiti and design, and most of all - bars of all shapes and sizes.

Enter newest kid on the block, Jann. A cocktail bar that's located on the 7th floor of the newly opened Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown.

Launch of Cigar Bar KL @ Naza Tower

If you’ve been stalking us on instagram or Facebook,, you’d know that we're starting our cigar appreciation journey. Well, should't really come as a surprise as whisky and cigars go together like cheese and crackers... or rum and raisin... or steak and wine.. .. you get the drift!

We were recently honoured to witness the launch of The Cigar Bar KL which is located on the ground floor of Naza Tower Platinum Park.

The bar’s co-founder and director Jay Walia is an avid cigar enthusiast.

The bar stocks many Cuban and non-Cuban options including new world special editions as well which are available by the stick.

What makes Cigar Bar KL different from other cigar lounges? It’s not just a lounge, it's also a bar and what Jay wants you to experience is not just cigars but a curated experience marrying cigars with the flavors of whisky or rum, chocolates and salt to bring you a whole different flavour experience through his curated pairing menus ranging from RM55 to RM130.

Cigar Bar also offers a variety of whiskies, rum, brandy, wine and beer too.
